“Are you comfortable?” is an installation art that I made in 9th grade that tries to make visitors feel the feeling of both comfort and discomfort at the same time. After reflecting on the years of forcing myself to try a new medium, do new activities, work on new events, and even joining communities just for the sake of trying to learn out of my comfort zone i did a lot of research around that topic and found that in order to learn successfully we must be challenged, however, I realized that I pushed myself to hard in that moment.

Creating a room as big as 2,3m x 2,3m x 2m with metal pipes, pillows with zip ties, and the chair. I did most of this by myself with some help from my family. The pillows i used meant to reflect the feeling of comfort as people often associate pillows with sleeping, but it is also a reference to the “rubber room” most often found in an asylum where the effect of staying there for long can cause anxiety, stress, hallucinating, hopelessness, Etc. The oval rocking chair is meant to be a place for reflection because people often sit on a chair while being in their own zone/blank out.
